Our Marquees in Guildford

We have worked in every part of Guildford and have many Clients across town.

Guildford Cricket Club being avid cricket fans, one of our most prestigious jobs is the Cricket Festival at Woodbridge Road, Guildford. Here we provided lots of marquees for hospitality, crowd seating and catering tents around the boundary of the cricket pitch whilst surrey cricketers smashed the ball around the park.

The Guildford Remembrance Sunday service uses our matting and red carpet each year in November for Remembrance Sunday. We use the matting to protect the grass as it's held on a bowling green in the castle grounds. We also install red carpets for walkways and disabled ramps for access.

Guilfest is another major event that we provide marquees. We have supplied most of the Marquees for the Guilfest music festival every year since it began in the 90s as our managing director Tony Scott is the organiser of Guilfest. We provided marquees for the stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms with partitions and screens, and also lighting and linings for decoration.

It's great to know that major artists such as Madness, Plup, David Gray and Motorhead have all performed in our marquees.

Find the right venue
A lot of people are able to site the marquee they require for their event at their home or at their work place (for corporate events), but if this is not an option there are many different places in Surrey that you could consider. Places including country houses, sports clubs, farms and local parks all have large areas of generally flat land that you can hire for such events.

If it is the case that you require a venue in the Surrey area we will be only too happy to assist you.

The time of year and weather
Although Surrey has some of the finest weather in the country, it can still be unpredictable at any time of year. This being the case, using a marquee for your event can shield you from the elements whether it is rain, sun or wind to make sure your event is a success.

If you require a marquee for an event in the winter months, the marquee can be equipped with a wooden floor to cover waterlogged surface and to prevent water seeping in form heavy rainfall. We can also supply you with either cabinet or indirect heating to make sure you and your guests stay warm.

In the summer you may require the marquee for shade from the sun. An ideal solution for this could be to have a marquee canopy (a marquee with no walls).

Catering hire

Many events incorporate some form of catering and depending on the capacity of the event and your culinary skills you may wish to hire in a catering firm to undertake this task.

Many catering companies will bring a full a working professional kitchen with them which can be based in a catering marquee while other companies will work with the on site facilities. Options for food can be anything from a simple buffet for people to nibble at to a sit down fine dining experience. If in the situation that you only cutlery, plates, table linen and glassware, there are also plenty of companies that will provide this service in and around Surrey.

Entertainment
To add something special to your event you may want to consider providing some form of Entertainment for your guests. This may include ideas such as DJ and disco, a live band, magicians, circus acts and many more.

Facilities
Other facilities you may need to consider for your event are items such as toilets and generators.

If there are no toilet facilities available to use on site then it is advisable to hire some in. There are various types of portable toilet that you can hire in. For a small event you may wish to hire in single polyjohn units (tardis), if it is a large event you may want to consider hiring a toilet trailer which can be split into both male and female section.

Much like the toilets, if there is no power available on site you may have to hire in a generator. This can be important especially if you have on site caterers powering electric ovens and other electrical heating equipment. Generators come with various power outputs with the size dependant on your requirements.
